ASUS ROG Phone 3 Long-term review, ROG Phone 3 is the 3rd generation gaming smartphone from ASUS, by 3rd gen I mean the only Player in the entire Smartphone space to focus dedicatedly on the Gaming range of Smartphones. Apart from ASUS, Xiaomi’s Blackshark, Razer Gaming Phone, Nubia Red magic, these are the dedicated lineup of Gaming smartphones. 

Let me cut short and give you the short read to help you decide does ROG Phone 3 is eligible if you are looking for a Gaming phone and also a good flagship around Rs.50,000 in India. This review will be a little different and will focus on things that matter.

I have been using ROG Phone 3 since Day 1. As a user here is my ROG Phone 3 long-term Review.

Specs

The First thing would be a specification of any Phone, however, the phone is known for being the Spec King. Some of the top specs being Snapdragon 865+, 8GB, and 12GB Ram variant in India and can go up to 16GB RAM for Global variant. 6000mAh battery, 144Hz display, Dual Partition Air triggers, etc.

Performance

Gaming performance is something that shouldn’t be reviewed considering the specs but again anything which is on paper has to be translated. ROG Phone 3 can handle any game you throw at it, PUBG Mobile (banned currently in India), Call of Duty Mobile, Asphalt 9. All the games which support up to 144hz/fps games – ROG Phone 3 game list. 

The performance is not limited to gaming but also in day to day usage. ROG Phone 3 comes with ROG UI bases on Android 10 and Android 11 should be coming pretty soon. Video, 8K Camera, multiple Apps usage at the same time these things also require some performance backing to work smoothly.

Air triggers give a casual gamer an edge and immense pleasure with almost 4-8 controls at one time. Air triggers can be configured in a multiple-way and it can be used as swipe function, tap function, etc, depending upon the game, Hyperfusion can help to select the best network either Wi-Fi or 5G/4G for consistent Network input.

Real World Experience

The real-world experience of ROG Phone 3 can be simplified in just one sentence- 1 Phone for all types of users. Many customers have a dilemma that ROG Phone is just for gaming, its not the entire conclusion. ROG Phone 3 can be used by anyone for day to day use, works superb as a flagship, etc. The camera is something which can’t be compared but how many of us compare the camera? The camera overall works prefect and can click some superb shots.

The battery being 6000mAh gives easily a days performance for gamers and almost 2 days for a regular user. ROG Phone 3 comes with a 30W inbox charger that can charge that big mammoth battery in just a couple of hours or less.

2. Armory crate Application – Customize game profiles, change processor speed, check the temperature of CPU/GPU, etc.
3. Game Genie – Record Gameplay, Go live, Use different Apps while you game, Check Fps, Core speed, temp.
4. The Cooling system makes sure you have no throttle while you game 
5. Side port and Down port charging for the best gaming experience

Not focusing here on the cons or negatives as given the price and things to offer it will be just nitpicking. 5G is for the long term user who prefers using for 3-4 years.
