Xiaomi Poco F2 spotted on Geekbench

0

A Geekbench appearance of a new smartphone from Xiaomi, the POCO F2, has created some excitement.
In separate tweets, the Indian arm of Xiaomi too had indicated that a successor to the POCO F1 was about to be unveiled this week. POCO F1 did very well, particularly in India and that has pushed Xiaomi to bring in the successor so soon, just after 4 months of launching the POCO F1.

Some Specifications Revealed on Geekbench

The new Xiaomi POCO F2 is likely to be fitted with the same octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC as seen on Poco F1. The RAM is 6GB as appearing on the Geekbench site and since the POCO F1 had 6GB and 8GB variants, one does not see much of a difference here and we might see the 8GB RAM variant for sure as well.

On the operating system, the POCO F1 was launched with the Android Oreo, version 8 with the indication that the OS will be upgraded to the Android Pie. In the case of this new phone, POCO F2, the Android 9 Pie OS is being pre-loaded.

The Xiaomi POCO F2 appearing on Geekbench today has scored 2321 on single core and 7564 on multi-core. These are reasonably good benchmark scores and with the processor and RAM indicated you would expect nothing less.

Will the Cameras be Different?

The Geekbench leaves no doubt about the model name; it’s clearly stated it is the Xiaomi POCO F2. So, if you want to know what is different from the predecessor, you can expect the camera section to be improved upon. The POCO F1 had a dual 12 MP+5 MP camera setup in the rear and a 20 MP sensor for selfies. Xiaomi could be planning to up these sensors to the next level. Don’t be surprised if the new phone is fitted with a triple camera arrangement and some changes in the imaging section itself with some supporting technology to deliver better images.

The display could find some new developments as well. The POCO F1 has a 6.18 inch display. There could be minor changes here as well. There’s hardly much to expect in the case of the battery, since the F1 already has a 4000 mAh battery.

So what do you all think ? I feel it’s too early for another POCO addition. SD855 is far away & POCO should have waited for it. Let us know in the comments below.  For fastest tech updated follow us on  Facebook & Twitter. Stay Connected.
